2x8: RECLAIM

What is 2×8?

Celebrating over 22 years of design excellence, 2×8 is organized by Architecture for Communities Los Angeles, a non-profit formed by AIA LA to support the efforts of our schools, institution, and practitioners to inspire, educate, and engage a wider spectrum of society in the design of our built environment.

This year, our exhibition will revolve around the theme of “RECLAIM.”

The theme aims to highlight the importance of projects that RECLAIM in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry. Projects that RECLAIM examines how architecture can re-assert its role in serving the public good. In the face of environmental challenges, housing pressures, social fragmentation, and growing demands for accountability, the theme encourages proposals that address architecture as both a design discipline and a civic act.
