Flo House is a single-family residence located in Malibu, CA. It is designed for a choreographer in mind, looking to have a house beyond straight walls. The house curves allow the residents to have a free-flowing movement going from room to room due to the lack of edges that a rectilinear room typically has. The subtle use of concrete enables the house’s organic layout to compliment the site’s sloping terrain. In addition to its unique exterior and interior, it has sustainable features such as using a green roof to reduce the top and surrounding air photovoltaic solar panels.

The large floor-to-ceiling windows facing east in the guest suite, living area, and master suite allows the residence to have a mesmerizing panoramic of the ocean in Leo Carrillo State Beach and its surrounding greenery. Half of the house sits on top of the slope, while columns called pilotis support the other half, which lets the ground below it move freely. The house’s main entrance is from the upper level, with the master suite, two bedrooms, a dance studio, and a hot yoga room. It also has a large and a small balcony. The lower level is where the guest suite, living area, bar, dining, and garage are situated. Also, a conversational pit is circular, which plays a sinuous motif like the rest of the house. Besides a bedroom, a bathroom, and a walk-in closet, the guest suite includes a separate kitchenette that the guests could only access.
